Herb and Onion Bread


1/2 Cup Milk
1 1/2 Tsp Sugar
1 Tsp Salt
1 Tbsp Butter (softened)
1 Package Dry Yeast
1/2 Cup Warm Water
2 1/4 Cups AP Flour
1/2 Small Onion Minced
1/2 Tsp Dried Dill Weed
1 Tsp Crushed Dried Rosemary


Scald milk and dissolve in the sugar, salt and butter.
Cool to lukewarm, around 100 degrees.
In a large bowl dissolve yeast in warm water. Add cooled milk mixture along with flour, onion, dill and rosemary and stir well. When batter is smooth, cover and let dough rise in warm place until triple in size, about 45 minutes.
Stir down and beat a couple minutes, then turn into greased bread pan. Let stand in warm place for about 10 minutes. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour.
Cool on rack at least 20 minutes.
